TERMS & CONDITIONS
Please be aware that I do not reserve any dates or commit to any commission until the Save the Date Booking Fee has been paid.
The terms and conditions below become automatically effective once you commission me to provide your cake.
Wedding Cake Description
You will receive a detailed Cake Planner describing the size, design and cost of your cake, along with some other details. Please review this carefully and notify me in writing (email is fine) of any amendments. If we haven't yet finalised your design, the Cake Planner will be provisional and an updated document sent to you on finalising your design. Portions are as per cutting guides provided by Amara Cake Boutique and the client understands that the cake may yield more or less portions depending on how the cake is actually cut.
Changes to Your Order
Depending on the type and scale of change required, it may be possible to make some changes to your order up to 4 weeks prior to your event. This depends entirely on what kind of changes you are wanting to make and whether I have started making any of the decorations. Additional costs may be incurred. Any changes made to the design within the 3 months leading up to your wedding date that require a new quote cannot be reduced by more than 10% of the cost of the original quote.
Interpretation of Design
Whilst I will make every effort to provide a cake to the exact details specified in the Cake Planner, you understand and accept that there may be slight variations in some of the detail, for example, I cannot guarantee exact colour matches, lace design etc. (For peace of mind please ask for copies of some of my cake sketches and photos of the end cakes). Amara Cake Boutique reserves the right to make minor design changes as required in order to ensure the highest quality end product.
Stand Hire may be available (if I have a suitable stand available). Stands are hired out at a rate of £20 for a 3-day hire period. A £100 security deposit is required against loss or damage. This deposit is fully refunded upon the safe and timely return of the item in its original condition. Late or damaged stands will result in forfeit of deposit and may incur additional charges. Please wipe down the stand but do not wash it. If you fail to return the stand, resulting in Amara Cake Studio having to retrieve the stand from your wedding venue, mileage at £1.00 per mile return trip will be charged and deducted from your security deposit.
Booking Fee & Payment
The cost of your Cake, Sweet Treats/Wedding Favours (if applicable), Stand Hire and any Delivery charges are detailed in the Cake Planner. A non-refundable £200 Save the Date Booking Fee is required to reserve your date and secure the commission of your cake. You may pay the Booking Fee to secure your preferred date even if you haven’t yet finalised your cake design. For orders over £1,000 a further deposit may be required. The balance is due four weeks prior to delivery/collection of your cake. Payment can be made by bank transfer, cheque or cash. Payment of the Booking Fee confirms your acceptance of our terms and conditions and is binding.
Delivery & Set Up:
As part of my bespoke service, I offer personal delivery and set-up, which is free within 10 miles of my home. For areas further afield, a reasonable delivery charge will be calculated based on time and mileage to and from the venue (round trip). Any applicable delivery charge is detailed on the attached Cake Planner.
Set-up does not include Styling. Should you wish me to style your cake table, this will be quoted, to include additional time and materials.
It is always my intention that your cake will be delivered in perfect condition prior to the start of your reception.
However, I ask for patience with factors that may be beyond my control (e.g. traffic conditions) as I cannot be held liable in the rare occasion of any such delays. In some circumstances, I may recommend the cake is delivered 1 day in advance.
It is your responsibility to ensure you inform me of your correct ceremony and reception time plus the full address and postcode of the venue.
In the unlikely event of late delivery, the maximum compensation will be a refund of the delivery price.
In the extremely unlikely event of serious damage due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. car accident during delivery that destroys the cake) I will endeavour to provide a replacement display cake for your cake cutting photo.
Cake Display and Storage
Please ensure that a stable and level surface is provided for set up of the cake. Amara Cake Boutique cannot be held responsible for any damage incurred as a result of an unstable/unsuitable cake table/location.
Avoid storing your cake in a warm environment or in direct sunlight – a cool room temperature with some ventilation is ideal. Do not store fondant cakes in a refrigerator.
The client is required to exercise extra caution when commissioning a cake covered in chocolate or buttercream for a spring/summer wedding (April-October). I cannot accept responsibility for any melting of the cake once it is delivered to the venue, as I have no control over the environmental or venue temperature.
All my cakes are baked fresh to order as close to your wedding date as possible, and I do not add any preservatives. Although they are likely to last much longer, they are best enjoyed within 48 hours of delivery.
It may be possible to collect smaller orders (ie one or two tiers) from my kitchen and your cake will be packaged in a cake box. Collection times are at the discretion of Amara Cake Boutique and by prior agreement. I do not offer refunds or replacements for orders that have not been collected at the agreed date and time.
Regrettably, I cannot accept any responsibility for damage that occurs after the cake has been collected, delivered or installed. If your cake does suffer any damage after collection or delivery, please contact me immediately; I fully appreciate that this is your special day and if I am in a position to help, then I will. Please note that this offer of help is not contractual and totally at my discretion.
Most cakes contain some inedible items, such as support dowels, ribbon, wires in sugar flowers, crystals, flower picks, etc and you will need to ensure they are removed before serving.
Any fresh flowers required to decorate your cake must be provided by your florist and they must also be removed before serving. Be aware that some flowers are not suitable for cake decoration and may cause contamination just through contact with your cake. The responsibility of the flowers safety, quality, freshness, colour and food safety will rest with the florist and not with Amara Cake Boutique.
Non-Edible Items will be detailed on the Important Information about your Cake Form.
All of my cakes contain Wheat Flour (Gluten), Eggs and Milk, and may contain Soya and Sulphites. All of my products are made in a kitchen that handles Nuts.
My gluten free options are made with gluten free ingredients, however, may contain traces of Gluten as they are made in a kitchen handling wheat. Gluten free cakes are not suitable for people with coeliac disease.
Please ensure that you make your guests aware of the allergens in your cakes as I cannot be held responsible for any reaction they may have. Allergens and E-numbers will be detailed on the Important Information about your Cake Form
For any specific allergen queries please feel free to get in touch.
Design & Copyright

If YOU cancel:
I understand that ‘life’ happens and plans may change. If you do need to cancel or postpone, please do contact me as soon as possible to see if we can work something out as it is never my intention to be unreasonable or rip anyone off. Please note though, as it is likely that I will have turned away other orders, and as a strict term and condition of you commissioning me to supply your cake, I do reserve the right to retain the Booking Fee, charge for any work that I have already undertaken and charge for any items already purchased for your order.
Notwithstanding the above, in the event of a cancellation by you, you will be liable for the following:
More than ninety days prior to the date = Booking Fee only.
Ninety days to one calendar month prior to the date = Booking Fee plus half the remaining cost.
Less than one calendar month prior to the date = full amount
Any payments previously made are not refundable.
If I cancel:
I retain the right to cancel your booking in circumstances beyond my control, such as fire or ill health (although I have never had to cancel an order to date). I will always endeavor to find you an alternative baker and your full booking fee will be refunded. Amara Cake Boutique and its officers shall not be liable for any breach of contract resulting from such an event.
All goods commissioned from Amara Cake Boutique remain the property of Amara Cake Boutique until paid for in full.
The balance of your cake order is payable 4 weeks before your event date. I will contact you a week or two before the final payment is due to remind you. If the balance is not paid in full by the date noted on your contract then the cake order will be deemed to have been cancelled by you and I will retain your full deposit. Amara Cake Boutique accepts no responsibility for any losses or non-delivery under these circumstances.
My aim is always to produce an outstanding cake that both looks and tastes phenomenal. I am confident that, as with my previous clients, you will be very happy with your cake and sweet treats (if applicable). In the unlikely event that you are not 100% happy with your cake (within reason), please contact me as soon as possible, but definitely within 24 hours. A refund will only be considered if the entire cake is returned. If you are unable to return the product, I regret that I will be unable to investigate any potential cause for concern or process any refund.
Amara Cake Boutique's liability (both in contract and tort) in respect of defects in goods or services shall be limited to the issue of a credit note in respect thereof, or the granting of a refund or other such compensatory measures as Amara Cake Boutique, at its discretion, considers appropriate in the circumstances and shall be limited to the value of the goods or services giving rise to the claim.
In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to not post any negative information about the other on any online forum or website without providing advance written notice of the intended content thereof, and providing the other party with a prior opportunity to resolve any issues between the parties amicably.
These Terms, along with the Cake Planner, form the basis of the contract and set out the whole agreement between you and us for the sale of cakes. It is your responsibility to check all details in the Cake Planner are complete and accurate as this is the document I work to when completing your order.
Any headings utilised in this Agreement have been inserted for the convenience of reference only and should in no way restrict or otherwise affect the construction of the terms and conditions hereof.
I reserve the right to update and amend my T&Cs from time to time without further publication or consultation.
